Testimonials
I started working for the Drapers’ Academy in 2010. I soon found myself working with some exceptional people and being part of a team/family environment and have never looked back. I have felt fully supported and encouraged with continuous professional development and from knowledgeable line managers and colleagues. Empathy has been key throughout recent times with the pandemic when needed.
Facilities are exceptional with the latest aspects of IT, free parking and catering at the Academy. I feel part of a team striving to perform to the best of our ability to provide the best educational service we can.

I have worked for Drapers’ Multi Academy Trust for the last 9 years. During that time I have held two completely different roles. Both these roles required the same high standards and service. I am very grateful for the opportunities I have had to upskill and to change my career path. Within my time working in the MAT I have worked with colleagues that will be lifelong friends.

I have been teaching for over 30 year in Havering and Essex. Drapers' Academy is by far the best school that I have worked in. Staff are supported and treated with deference and professionalism. The teaching staff are polite, friendly and willing to help and support fellow colleagues. As teachers, we are afforded space to teach and to develop effective pedagogy. The buildings are second to none. Well designed and well maintained. The classrooms are bright and spacious many affording beautiful views over neighbouring countryside. The students are typical of any secondary school in the country; some are great and others need a bit more support in one way or another. They are atypical in the sense that they have bought into the Drapers' Academy mantra that achieving a good set of GCSE and A Level qualifications will equate with professional careers and social mobility in their adult lives.

I have worked at Drapers’ Academy Sixth Form for four years as an Administrator. The Sixth Form is a friendly, professional learning environment for all students. The teachers are dedicated to getting the best out of the students and each student is treated as an individual. The Sixth Form is a fantastic, supportive working environment. I feel privileged to work here.

There is something truly unique about Drapers' Academy: our pupils and students. Like so many other members of staff, I believe it is a privilege to serve the community of Harold Hill and to work so closely with our young people. We understand that to be successful in the modern world our pupils and students require more than simply knowledge. Staff at Drapers' Academy work tirelessly to support both the academic and pastoral needs of our young people. We champion one another and share good practice as we strive for success. In my four years at the academy I have learnt so much about education, pedagogy and what motivates young people. The academy's progress in recent years is testament to the hard work and dedication of staff and pupils and students alike.

I joined Drapers’ Pyrgo Priory School as an NQT in 2012. I then became a qualified teacher and am now the Assistant Vice-Principal. I have taught in most year groups and seen a lot of children progress through the school and move on to secondary school, the majority of them moving on to Drapers’ Academy. Pyrgo is a lovely place to work, I see my colleagues as part of our Pyrgo “family” and we all work together to make Pyrgo the best place we can for our children and families.
Pyrgo became part of the Multi-Academy Trust in September 2016. We have developed good working relationships with all of our colleagues at the other MAT schools, and I hope that collaboration can be developed even further in the future. The central MAT team in particular provide excellent support with areas such as health and safety, premises and HR.
