Harold Hill Country Dance Festival

Hosted by Drapers' Pyrgo Priory School, five local primary schools came together for a fun afternoon of music, dance and community spirit at this year's Harold Hill Country Dance Festival.

The much-loved annual event celebrates country dancing and gives pupils the opportunity to showcase the line dancing routines they have been learning in the weeks leading up to the festival. This year's participants were Drapers' Brookside, Drapers' Maylands, Drapers' Pyrgo Priory, Broadford Primary School and Mead Primary School.

The festival began with a series of energetic group dances led by Drapers' Maylands Performing Arts Teacher, Miss Lawrence. Pupils from all five schools danced together to popular country favourites including 5,6,7,8, Texas Hold 'Em and Achy Breaky Heart, showing enthusiasm and excitement.

Each school also took to the floor to perform its own individual routine. Drapers' Brookside entertained the audience with a lively performance to Chattahoochee, while Drapers' Maylands impressed with a high-energy routine to Cotton Eye Joe. Drapers' Pyrgo Priory performed to Bring on the Good Times, and both Broadford Primary School and Mead Primary School showcased spirited performances to Wagon Wheel.

The festival was a fantastic celebration of teamwork, confidence and creativity, with pupils demonstrating the hard work and dedication they had put into preparing for the event. 

Congratulations to all of the schools involved for making this year's Harold Hill Country Dance Festival such a success. It was a wonderful afternoon of music, dancing and fun, and a fitting celebration of the talent and enthusiasm of local primary school pupils.
